Wall Sits

As I was typing away on my computer I heard more rustling outside of my door than normal. Is that giggling?

Out of curiosity and went and peeked my head around the door. In front of the bathrooms was one of our second grade classes. Their teacher laughing and saying, “Sorry, I got them a bit off task. We are doing wall sits. One of the students just asked how I was so good?”

Smiling I replied, “Can I join in?”

I picked an open spot on the wall with a girl on one side of me and a boy on the other. As my legs started to burn I put my hands out in front of me and waved them back and forth. The little girl asked what I was doing and I explained that I was distracting myself.

Soon after, all of the kids were waving their arms and giggling.

While I know we were breaking the rules of being quiet and respectful in the hallways we were also embracing the opportunity to laugh and have a little fun with kids.

  1. This makes me smile. Reminds me of how the day started too! So much commotion- and so many giggles. It was a great way to start the day! Wall sits with 2nd graders had to be so fun. My kids tried commandos in my classroom after I was having trouble lifting my arms one day. Lots of fun!
